Glasgow Celtic have announced that they will play their home qualifying matches in next season’s Champions League at the home of Scottish rugby in Murrayfield.

With Celtic Park out of action as it is needed for the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games, Celtic have had to look up the road to Edinburgh and Murrayfield as the venue of choice for their home qualifying matches. Hampden Park is also out of action because of the Commonwealth Games so Murrayfield (pic below) is the only logical stadium capable of housing Celtic’s huge legion of fans.

Celtic’s Chief Executive, Peter Lawell said “We are fortunate that we have such a fantastic and sizeable support and clearly it is important that we allow as many fans as possible to attend our matches. Murrayfield is a magnificent stadium, it is the obvious choice and we are sure it will be a venue which will provide a great footballing occasion.”
