Mourinho’s men are looking formidable…

It seems like Jose Mourinho isn’t putting the £50m he received for David Luiz in the bank after Chelsea confirmed that they have reached an agreement with Atletico Madrid for their Brazilian left-back Filipe Luis.

David Luiz / Filipe Luis, they are the same sort of the players right? Yes, apart from the fact that Filipe Luis can actually defend as seen by his impressive displays in Atletico’s march to the Champions League final and their league winning campaign.

This is the second time in two days that the Blues have announced news of an impending arrival from the Vicente Calderon, Spanish striker Diego Costa signed yesterday for £32m.

The club haven’t announced a fee for  the 28-year-old defender but the fee is believed to be around the  £20m region.

Having seen a fair bit of Ateltico Madrid over the years, JOE thinks that Luis will be a fantastic addition to  Mourinho’s side. He is comfortable on the ball, offers a great attacking outlet and seems to love defending.

The Brazilian will have big shoes to fill though, replacing Ashley Cole,  but we think that this is a a shrewd piece of business from the Special One.
