Clare and Cork fans will be dying to win second prize in this Longford GAA club’s raffle

With only days to go until the All-Ireland Hurling Final, tickets to the big game will be like gold dust for Cork and Clare fans. But they’re not as big a deal for one GAA club in Longford, it seems.

With only days to go until the All-Ireland Hurling Final, tickets to the big game will be like gold dust for Cork and Clare fans. But they’re not as big a deal for one GAA club in Longford, it seems.

If you’re from Cork and Clare and in desperate need of a ticket for the decider this weekend, you could do worse than make your way to Longford for the Moydow Harpers club raffle being held in Kearney’s in Curraghmore tonight.

And while there is nothing wrong with the top prize of a weekend in a three-star hotel, of more interest to Cork and Clare fans will be a pair tickets to the All-Ireland hurling final, a quite generous reward for winning second prize we think you’ll agree.

In fairness to Moydow Harpers, interest in the game isn’t going to be as high in Longford as it is elsewhere and we assume that they are simply raffling off the two tickets that they, like every other club in the country, would have received ahead of the big game.

On the other hand, if the organisers of the raffle happen to have a foot in either of the Cork or Clare camp, we wouldn’t be surprised if there are reports of these types of shenanigans going down…
