The Dubliner has leapfrogged Saturday’s opponent Dustin Poirier in the rankings and made an absolute killing in the process…
Conor McGregor has jumped four places in the UFC featherweight division to take up the #5 contender spot in the rankings.
McGregor has stolen fifth spot off Saturday’s opponent Dustin Poirier who drops two places to seventh following the defeat.
But that isn’t the only reason for the Dubliner to smile this morning as the UFC have announced the earnings of all the fighters from UFC 178 and surprise surprise, McGregor tops the pay-out with a pretty handsome sum.
The Notorious has earned $200,000 (€157,519) for his defeat of Poirier on Saturday night. This includes his appearance fee, win bonus and knock-out of the night bonus… we know who we will be contacting if we need a loan.
To put that into perspective, featherweight sensation McGregor earned a little over $1,415 (€1,114) per second in purse winnings alone for his bout on Saturday and earned more than flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson received for defending his world title.
That is a lot of custom-made suits Mr McGregor…
