Conor McGregor mocks the idea of Floyd Mayweather competing in the UFC

Still a bit of bad blood here…

Following Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather’s boxing bout in August, there seemed to be a mutual respect between the two sporting icons. The boxing legend spoke highly of Conor, saying “Tonight I chose the right dance partner. Conor you were a great dance partner tonight.” The Dublin man spoke equally highly of the boxer, referring to the veteran as a “true champion.”

But the respect that was there seems to have disappeared, at least on McGregor’s part.

Amid speculation that Mayweather might venture over to the UFC, the current lightweight champion took to Twitter to give his response to a picture that ESPN tweeted of Floyd wearing UFC gloves.

Virgin ears. Ouch. Perhaps it’s just a little bit of banter, but if the boxer does venture to the world mixed martial arts, then the Crumlin man will surely want to be his opponent.

This comes just a day after Mayweather seemingly changed his mind with regard to his desire of fighting in the UFC, to which McGregor also had a witty response.

The fight almost definitely will not happen, especially in the UFC, as it would be about 100 times more one-sided than the boxing match that took place in the summer, but don’t be surprised if you see McGregor goading Mayweather even more over the coming few weeks.
