Conor McGregor has told fans how they can enter Thursday’s press conference (which is closed to the public)

McGregor press conference

It’s quite simple really.

Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov will come face-to-face for the first time on Thursday in the lead up to their fight at UFC 229, and fans can’t wait.

There is only one problem.

The press conference is closed to the public.

This means that any trash-talk or potential iconic moments like the ones that have taken place at all of McGregor’s press conferences in the past will only be seen live by journalists and UFC staff members.

But, ever the innovator, the Dublin man has come up with a way to ensure that his fans will be able to gain entry to the conference.

He took to Twitter in the early hours of Wednesday morning to inform fans that it would in fact be open to the public, and that all they had to do to get in is to bring a bottle of McGregor’s new brand of whiskey.

And if you wanted to really push it, two bottles means that you can skip the queue.

Although it does seem like a joke, McGregor tweeted that: “My soldiers will be outside making sure this rule is strictly adhered to.”

The last time his so-called “soldiers” showed up at a UFC event, things got messy to say the least.

It was announced earlier in the week that Proper 12 was available all around the world, and that a portion of the sales will be donated to local first responder groups and charities.

UFC 229 will go down on 6 October.
