Huge news this morning

It’s happened people, let’s hope no pesky injuries spoil our fun this time…

Conor McGregor will face Jose Aldo for the UFC featherweight title at UFC 194 in Las Vegas on December 12.

‘The Notorious’ will face Aldo in a title unification bout in the MGM Grand Garden having won the interim belt for his win over Chad Mendes at UFC 189 in July.

This puts an end to rumours that McGregor would headline a bout in Dallas Cowboys Stadium this year.

UFC President Dana White also revealed that Ronda Rousey will not feature on the card despite the claims of former fighter Tito Ortiz.

Reports were suggesting that the UFC were planning a bout between her and either Miesha Tate or Cris Cyborg as the co-main event on the card.

“To show you that Tito Ortiz has no idea what he’s talking about, we’re not even doing the fight in Dallas, Texas,” White told UFC.com on Monday. “The fight is going to be in Las Vegas at the MGM. Just to show you that Tito is absolutely talking out of his ass.”

This is huge news for Irish sports fans and we’d guess some of you will already be looking up flights and accommodation in anticipation.

This promises to be one of the biggest fights in UFC history and we expect to see a massive push promoting this fight from the fight organisation.
