PICS: Local Limerick soccer club make hilarious transfer bid for Cristiano Ronaldo

Bye, bye, Real Madrid.

JOE

Shountrade AFC has made him an offer he can’t refuse.

Arguably one of the greatest footballers of all time, when there was a whisper that Ronaldo might be leaving Real Madrid, the rumour windmill started to turn and every club threw their hat in the ring for the superstar.

Some were saying Manchester United, others were saying it might be Chelsea and a few thought it was just a trick in order for Ronaldo to get a higher wage at the Spanish club.

One club who was not thrown into the mix was Shountrade AFC who made an outrageous(ly funny) bid for the former Sporting Lisbon and Manchester United winger.

The bid reads as follows…

Tim Shiels who is a member of the Shountrade AFC board told JOE:

“The Board would like to stress that this is just an opening offer and there is a bit of wiggle room in it.

“He would be joining a club with pedigree. We have a few former county minors…. hurling in fairness but what’s hurling really only soccer with sticks,” he said.

“We also have a lad that recently won a 400m inter-club race at the Limerick dog track and we just feel we are in the right position to take Ronaldo’s career to the next level.

“The Board are offering an initial one-year contract ’til we have a look at him. Offer subject to medical which will be organised at the club. He may need to go by another name for that though because we will be borrowing a medical card,” Shiels concluded.
