Daniel Sturridge has some good news for Liverpool fans

Tony Cuddihy

Daniel Sturridge is only two or three games away from his next injury setback after he declared himself ready to return to action for Liverpool.

The 26-year-old striker has been missing with a hamstring injury since the defeat to Newcastle on December 6th, the latest in a long line of injury problems for the England international.

However, he tweeted after the Reds’ 1-0 win over Leicester City on St. Stephen’s Day: “Perfect gift for Christmas from the boys getting a win. On a sidenote I’m back training and good to go!!”

Sturridge’s return, if he can remain fit, will come as a massive boost to Jürgen Klopp. Liverpool are currently eighth in the table after beating the league leaders, and face trips to Sunderland and West Ham over the next week.

Divock Origi is a doubt for those games after he was forced off in the first half against the Foxes, with his replacement Christian Benteke scoring the winner in the 63rd minute.
