We know the Irish scrum-half is well built, but how the hell did David Pocock fit into Conor Murray’s jersey?!
Ireland and Australia played out a gripping contest at Allianz Stadium, on Saturday, with the tourists beating the hosts 26-21 to claim the series win.
Two of the star performers in that series were Ireland scrum-half Conor Murray and Australian flanker David Pocock.
Murray played all but seven minutes of the three gripping Test matches and Pocock was surely the Wallabies’ Player of the Series – he scored a try in the First Test victory, was a breakdown nightmare throughout and he secured seven turnovers for his side.
At the conclusion of the final Test in Sydney, Pocock told FOX Sports:
“It’s incredibly disappointing. The belief was really there, right until that final pass. So credit to Ireland on their win tonight, and on the series. They’re a great side and they have really shown that over the last three weeks.”
Several of the players swapped jerseys after the game – Israel Folau and Rob Kearney swapped their 15s – and the Aussies dropped into the Irish dressing room for some beers, and some obligatory photos. War stories were told and it was great to see the series ending on such a positive note.

Pocock had the chance to catch up with Murray in the Ireland dressing room and he shared a great snap of them together, after swapping jerseys, and back in Limerick in 2005.
The Australian flanker wrote:
‘In 2005 on the Australian Schoolboys tour of UK and Ireland we were billeted out with families in Limerick. The family I was billeted with: the Murrays. I don’t think Conor Murray or I were thinking we’d go on to face each other in test rugby. Great to catch up after the game.’
