Late North Carolina basketball coach Dean Smith left $200 to every one of his former players, to enjoy a dinner out, in his will.
In a letter received by around 180 of his former charges, Coach Smith asked that they “enjoy a dinner out compliments of Coach Dean Smith.”
The total amount he would have left to the North Carolina players is estimated at $36,000.
Smith passed away on February 7th at the age of 83 and coached North Carolina from 1961 to 1997.
