WATCH: Fans react to Leicester City player getting yellow card for paying tribute to team's deceased owner
The referee has come under fire for the decision.
On Saturday 3 November, Leicester City played against Cardiff, with the game beginning with a minute's silence before kicking off in the Welsh capital.
Leicester City's Demarai Gray scored the game's first and only goal ten minutes into the second half, and took off his jersey to celebrate, revealing another jersey underneath, with the words "For Khun Vichai" printed on the front.
Leicester City owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha was was one of five people killed last Saturday when his helicopter crashed outside the club’s King Power Stadium following a league match against West Ham.

However, following these scenes, referee Lee Probert showed Gray the yellow card for removing his jersey, which many fans have reacted severely to.
While there has been some anger placed towards Probert for showing the card in the first place, many others understand that he had been put in a difficult position in the first place.
Elsewhere, I felt for ref Lee Probert when he had to book Leicester's Demarai Gray yesterday. Could argue he could have taken a stance & defied the rules but you could see his face when the shirt came off & he knew he had to get the yellow out. Rules should allow for compassion.

I see Lee Probert’s had a lot of stick for booking Demarai Gray. The rule is so stupid, but don’t blame the ref for doing his job. If he was being assessed he’d be marked down had he not shown yellow, and you could see him cringe at having to do it. FA should just bin the rule.
