Donegal announce Rory Gallagher as their new GAA football manager

He has some big shoes to fill after Jim McGuinness but this looks like a solid appointment

JOE has been waiting for the news of the new Donegal manager all evening after their county committee meeting was brought forward but the wait is over.

Rory Gallagher is the new man at the helm of the county's footballers as he makes the step up from assistant of the 2012 All-Ireland winning team to the main job.

Gallagher had been the bookies’ favourite to succeed Jim McGuinness and once again they're never wrong. Gallagher is currently co-manager of Kilcar GAA, along with John McNulty, but he has just been given a 3 year term with the option for a forth year available.

The decision making panel of Michael McGeehan, Gary Walsh, Liam Ward, P.J. McGowan, Joseph McKelvey ratified the news in a meeting this evening.

Donegal have also reappointed Declan Bonner and Maxie Curran as their minor and U21 managers.

So, what do you all make of the appointment?
