It looks like the dual player might be a thing of the past…

Cork’s Eoin Cadogan will only play intercounty football for Cork next year after deciding not to continue his dual commitments. The Douglas man met with hurling manager Jimmy Barry-Murphy and football manager Brian Cuthbert today and has confirmed that he’ll play with the big ball in 2015.

Cuthbert said, “I am delighted to have Eoin on board for 2015. Preparations are under way for the year ahead, and we look forward to returning to competitive action.”

Barry-Murphy said, “Obviously we are disappointed to lose Eoin but we wish him well with the footballers in 2015. The door is always open for his return to Cork hurling should circumstances allow.”

The news will come as a big boost to the footballers who will be without Aidan Walsh next season and Cadogan will be hoping to make an impact after producing his best footballing display in a long time in Cork’s All-Ireland quarter final defeat to Mayo during the summer.
