Everton official store ruins fan's Christmas with Manchester United crest
Only Everton.
What with the prevalence of knock-off replica football shirts on the market these days, it's very easy to end up with a crap version of the real deal. Prices for official merchandise may be astronomical, but purchasing discounted gear off dodgy websites and disreputable eBay accounts can often result in inferior apparel.
So the best course of action is to buy straight from the source and shop at the official club shop, right? Well, perhaps not if you're an Everton supporter. Certainly one Toffees fan in particular was left crest-fallen (pun intended) when his full-price purchase turned out to be a very unsuitable Christmas turkey.
Will spent over £50 to buy a brand new Everton home shirt with midfielder Ross Barkley's name and number on the back. Except the Goodison Park club obliged with a jersey portraying mixed allegiances. On the front was of course the famous Everton crest. But on the back? A Manchester United badge.
That's right - Barkey's number eight was adorned with United branding, and Will was understandably not happy...
At first, his followers assumed he was joking, but far from it...
There were even suggestions he had added a United sticker to his shirt, but no...
Poor Will's protestations are currently without an answer, but that's not stopped it going viral - and it's no real help...
If it's any crumb of consolation, rumour has it Barkley will be transferred out of the club before long...maybe a move to Old Trafford would make sense under the circumstances.
