FAI invite Hurricane Ophelia workers as guests of honour to tonight’s crunch match

Well deserved.

Cork City may have proven almost impenetrable as they enjoyed their first league and cup double, but Hurricane Ophelia memorably left its mark on Turners Cross last month.

Ahead of tonight’s crucial World Cup playoff decider against Denmark, the workmen and engineers who grafted hard to repair the Derrynane Road stand in time for Cork’s clash with Derry City are being rewarded in style.

In honour of their efforts, nine members of the crew from Martin O’Callaghan Builders Limited will take their place as guests of the FAI tonight. Let’s hope the boys in green give them a reason to raise the roof…
