Tuesday meeting at Fairyhouse Races cancelled due to heavy rainfall
The weekend's heavy rainfall has resulted in the races having to be cancelled.
Tuesday's racing at Fairyhouse has been cancelled due to excessive rainfall overnight.
The race organisers said that 10mm of rain fell overnight, and following a course inspection this morning, Tuesday's meeting has been cancelled.
Fairyhouse Racecourse organisers took to Twitter this morning to share the news, alongside a photograph of a soaked pitch covered in divots.

General Manager of the course Peter Roe also confirmed the news on RTÉ Sport this morning.
"Another 5mm of rain was forecast ahead of racing today. If we had a better forecast, a dry morning, we could have raced.
"We walked the track...and the safest thing was to pull the plug. We will talk with Horse Racing Ireland about finding a [new] date as soon as we can.
"Based on the forecast it won't be in the foreseeable future."
High winds and heavy rain are expected for the rest of the week, with lows of -4°C forecasting frost on Wednesday night.
However, the end is nigh, as daytime temperatures are expected to pick up slightly over the course of next weekend.
