If you thought that FIFA’s 5 star skill rating was reserved for the likes of Cristiano Ronald0 and Neymar, think again.
With the latest edition of the game now just a matter of days away, a list of its most skilful players has been announced and features a few familiar names that we might not have expected to see.
Incredibly, all of these players have a higher skill rating than Lionel Messi…
Aiden McGeady, Everton
Evertonians can proudly claim to have one of the games more skilful players, with McGeady being given the maximum rating in the skill category.
Hatem Ben Arfa, Nice
Newcastle United fans will testify that on his day, Ben Arfa was a joy to watch. The trouble was, it was rarely his day. Now with Nice, goals like this one have probably helped him become a 5* skiller.
Yannick Bolasie, Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace fans will agree with Bolasie’s inclusion. The new edition of the game even features his trademark spin flick, as featured in the new skill tutorial video.
Adel Taarabt, Benfica
Capable of the odd flash of brilliance in his QPR days, Taarabt now plies his trade for Portuguese giants, Benfica.
Nani, Fenerbahce
Finally ending his association with Manchester United earlier this summer, Nani infuriated the Old Trafford faithful with his inconsistent showings. Despite this, the new Fenerbahce man gets a full 5 stars in the skill department.
All five are undoubtedly skilful, but do they have more about them than a man capable of this? We’re not so sure.
