Fine Gael sweepstakes

And they managed to spell four out of the 32 bloody teams wrong…

The entire country is currently either absolutely chuffed or absolutely raging with who they got in their World Cup sweepstakes.

It has taken workplaces everywhere by storm, and the current political party running the country are no different.

Fine Gael have released what party members got what teams in their own sweepstakes, and there are some funny results.

Our Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar got perennial dark horses Colombia, which was one of four country names spelled incorrectly on the list.

Costa Rico, Panema and Sweeden were among the other blunders included in their official list.

In fairness to them, the draw was done for charity, so we’ll hold back a bit on the slagging, but they could definitely do with a proof reader…

Minister for Education Richard Bruton is not on the list, so maybe that explains the oversight…

The list also offers us a little bit of political news, as two previously independent politicians Kevin Moran and Sean Canney are taking part. Deputy Leader of the Green Party Catherine Martin also appears to have done a transfer swap.

Who knew a World Cup sweepstake could reveal so much?
