Neither men are strangers to controversy.
Floyd Mayweather Jnr, who was the undisputed and undefeated five-division World Champion before his recent retirement from boxing, has made some interesting statements about how fighting fans react differently to similar antics when they come from people of two different races.
In an interview with FightHype.com, Mayweather explained that he believes McGregor is praised for his cocksure attitude – while Mayweather himself is slated.
“They say he talk a lot of trash and people praise him for it, but when I did it, they say I’m cocky and arrogant. So biased! Like I said before, all I’m saying is this, I ain’t racist at all, but I’m telling you racism still exists.”
Mayweather and McGregor have locked horns before, but not about anything as serious as racial bias. Here’s McGregor talking about how he’d beat Mayweather in the ring.

It’s important to note that some people probably don’t like Floyd Mayweather because of his many convictions pertaining to assaulting women, rather than his arrogant attitude, but the man still might have a point.
Mayweather also gave other examples of possible racial bias in fighting, such as the attention paid to Ronda Rousey for her achievements even though boxer and daughter of Muhammad Ali Laila Ali ‘did the same thing in better fashion.’
