Former Aston Villa defender Jlloyd Samuel has died in a car crash in England.

The left-back, who played for Villa between 1998 and 2007, was killed when his car collided with an oncoming vehicle on Tuesday morning.

The Trinidad and Tobago Football Association confirmed the awful news in a statement on Tuesday afternoon.

“We’ve received some terrible news that former National defender and Ex-Aston Villa and Bolton Wanderers player Jlloyd Samuel died in a car crash this morning in England,” the statement read.

“According to reports, Jlloyd was returning home after dropping his kids off to school and collided with an oncoming vehicle.

“The Trinidad and Tobago Football Association and his former national teammates at this time extends deepest condolences to his family members both in the UK and here in Trinidad and Tobago.”
