Four GAA clubs hate each other even more today than they did yesterday after acts of treachery

Patrick McCarry

Could you betray your rivals and earn €5,000 for your club and two All-Ireland final tickets? It’s not as easy as it sounds.

Ahead of this Sunday’s All-Ireland final between Dublin and Mayo, AIB got representatives from four clubs to face off in a battle of nerve, and morals.

The Toughest Truce involves rival parish teams from both Dublin (Parnells vs. Raheny) and Mayo (Charlestown vs. Ballaghadereen) for a tense, potentially lucrative face-off.

The game gave four proud men the chance to either win or share a cash prize and two All-Ireland Tickets for their respective clubs.

The prize would not come easy. To win the entire pot, the daring souls would have to stare their rival in the eye and play one of the best games of their life.

The Dublin head-to-head was a fraught affair.

As for the Mayo version, will these two clubs ever forget the betrayal?

We’re looking forward to the next time these sides meet.
