The French squad had been due to leave Edinburgh Airport on Monday morning.

Several members of the French rugby squad are being questioned by police in relation to allegations that they were involved in a fight in a bar in Edinburgh on Sunday.

France suffered their second defeat of the Six Nations against the Scots on Sunday, losing 32-26 in Murrayfield a week after Johnny Sexton’s heroics in Paris condemned them to an opening day loss.

According to STV, all but four members of the squad are being questioned by police in relation to a fight that is alleged to have broken out at a bar in Edinburgh after the game on Sunday night.

The French squad had been due to depart Edinburgh Airport on Monday morning; in a statement, the French Rugby Federation confirmed that a number of players are being held and that they are awaiting further information.
