From Claudio Taffarel to Peter Schmeichel, it seems that goalkeepers have never had much fashion sense

On reflection, it's probably fair to say that football in the 1990s was the time that fashion forgot, and from Jorge Campos to Kevin Pressman, no one escaped unscathed. Whether they were making a title charge, playing in the World Cup or attempting to avoid relegation, the only reason we can think of for allowing these outfits to be made, and then worn, must have been on the basis of some pseudo-scientific research that showed that if your opponent was blinded by your hideous fashion sense, they would be more likely to miss the target. All of these are surely collector's items now, but if you have any other suggestions or you think we've forgotten someone, then send them our way. We have already decreed that none shall top this effort from Gianluca Pagliuca however, which we have crowned winner of all the terribleness.
