While not quite hitting the highs of Cork v Dublin in the first of the All-Ireland hurling semi-finals, Clare’s victory over Limerick produced plenty of talking points, from the tactical battle between Davy Fitz and John Allen, Clare’s clinical finishing and Limerick’s lack of it and the quite frightening stare given by Davy to Ger Canning on RTE before the throw-in.

As usual, host Conor Heneghan is joined by Sean Nolan, Declan Whooley and Shane Stapleton (follow Shane on Twitter @shanesaint) to pore over all the discussion topics from Sunday’s game, while they also examine the failure of Hawkeye in the minor game and the ramifications for the Galway and Limerick minors and look ahead to the All-Ireland under-21 semi-finals this weekend.

The big ball is back with a bang this weekend as Mayo and Tyrone face off in the first of the All-Ireland football semi-finals and amongst the topics up for discussion is the meeting of the O’Sheas and the Cavanaghs in the middle of the pitch and the clash of styles between Mayo’s irresistible force and Tyrone’s immovable object.

We couldn’t let this week pass without bringing up Shane’s upcoming appearance on Championship Matters on RTE 2 this week and although he’s only appearing in a segment about cynical fouling this time around, Shane makes no bones about his long-held desire to replace Marty in the host’s chair (sort of).

All the lads put their necks on the line with predictions for Mayo v Tyrone this weekend as part of eircom’s Win, Lose or Draw game and there are still tickets for next weekend’s All-Ireland semi-final between Dublin and Kerry and the All-Ireland Final up for grabs via the JOE Prediction League.
