The QPR midfielder had some strong words for the Sky Sports pundit in an interview with The Times.
Joey Barton is growing more and more like the grumpy uncle in the corner of the sitting room on Christmas Day, refusing to join in the camaraderie while everyone else gets steadily drunk.
In an interview with the Times, he called into question Gary Neville’s – generally regarded as the best pundit on television – record as assistant manager to England manager Roy Hodgson.
Neville, in conversation with journalist Oliver Kay on Twitter, fought back against Barton’s comments and used a brilliant food analogy to put the former Manchester City man back in his box.
Nicely played.
