Gif: Brutal WWE-style tackle prevents try in Israel/Gibraltar rugby match

The ref let this go but it looks more than a little high and dangerous to us.

We were all caught up in the Six Nations drama but there was other international rugby going on at the weekend, such as a friendly between Gibraltar and Israel.

And one moment of the game has been turned into an exceptional Gif by those clever folks at Reddit RugbyUnion. It features Gibraltar centre Adie Thomas, who looks certain to score under the posts after taking an offload and breaking a tackle near the line.

But in steps Israel's Yonatan Kaplan, who stops Thomas dead with a very high, and dangerous clothesline-type tackle.

The Redditor who posted the clip, Grepus, goes on to say he spoke to the ref after the game and he told him that Kaplan tried to wrap his arm around so he didn't give the penalty. We don't see it ourselves.

Gibraltar went on to win the game 25-12
