We doubt Chicharito will be re-tweeting the link to this howler somehow.
Not a whole lot has happened in Manchester United’s Champions League clash with Real Sociedad so far and when Javier Hernandez was given the chance to give the travelling fans something to shout about, he fluffed his lines in spectacular fashion, blazing over from Shinji Kagawa’s cross when it seemed easier to put the ball in the back of the net.
Hernandez looked to the linesman to save his blushes with an offside flag but it never came and the scoreline remained at 0-0 in what has been a thoroughly uneventful contest in San Sebastian.
The Mexican international hit the headlines over the weekend for re-tweeting a Sky Sports story that quoted his international colleague Carlos Vela – who is playing for Real Sociedad tonight – as saying that he might need to move away from Manchester United if he doesn’t appear in the first team on a more regular basis.
Needless to say, this miss isn’t going to do his chances much good.
