The Premiership club has acted swiftly after Wasps back Elliot Daly was covered in beer after sliding over the deadball line during Saturday’s encounter.

Video footage was doing the rounds after the supporter emptied his pint on the 21 year-old and and the club quickly called on the public for information.

The perpetrator has handed himself in and despite being full of remorse and apologising for his actions, he has been suspended for the rest of the season. Wasps incidentally left Kingsholm with the points, and a beer sodden jersey on a  32-30 scoreline.

“As a result of his actions, he has been banned from attending matches at Kingsholm until the first Premiership match in 2014-15. He has also been warned that any future transgression will result in a life ban,” the club said.

Let this be a lesson to all supporters out there, respect the opposition and more importantly, don’t waste a drop.
