Harry Arter reveals what Pep Guardiola said to him on the pitch last night

Pep is a class act.

Manchester City moved up to second place in the Premier League last night thanks to a two-nil win over Bournemouth.

There was a lovely moment after the game when boss Pep Guardiola took time to seek out Bournemouth and Ireland midfielder Harry Arter.

Arter and his partner Rachel lost stillborn daughter Renee in December 2015 and they’re expecting a new baby next week.

Arter spoke to local newspaper The Bournemouth Echo after the game and explained what was said between the two men.

“He offered his best wishes for me and my partner this week, which was an unbelievable touch. He is someone I have a massive amount of respect for. I watched his Barcelona teams – and look at his Manchester City side tonight.

“For me, he is the best manager in the world. I don’t think there’s anybody close to him and what he has achieved. For him to offer that to me, I respected it and accepted it with a smile on my face.”

Guardiola also spoke about the moment in his post match interview.
