He’ll have trouble making room on the mantelpiece.
Had he sat down in January and wrote down exactly what he’d like to happen in 2015, TJ Reid probably couldn’t have come up with a better script that what actually panned out.
All-Ireland club champions with Ballyhale Shamrocks on St. Patrick’s Day. Another Leinster title. Another All-Ireland title. Another All-Star, which was topped off with the Hurler of the Year award for which he was one of three nominees in 2014.
The other contenders for the award – Dublin duo Jack McCaffrey and Bernard Brogan, Mayo’s Aidan O’Shea and Galway’s David Burke – all made their mark on the season just gone but none of them had the impact that Reid had and there can be no disputing he is a worthy winner.
Where he’s going to find room for this baby we have no idea…
Congratulations on a fantastic year TJ.
