The Argentine scored his 252nd and 253rd top flight goals against Sevilla this evening, his second of the night.

Lionel Messi has broken Telma Zarra’s record for goals in the top flight of Spanish football, furthering his cause to be remembered as the best player in the history of the game.

The 27-year-old’s tap-in brought him to 252 goals in La Liga, leaving him out on his own, before he completed his hat-trick with a fine solo effort and put Barcelona 5-1 up.

What a player.
