It has been reported by Stuart Watson of the East Anglian Daily Times and Ipswich Star that he spoke at a conference for three minutes, before saying, “That’s my last game, I’m out of here.”
Then, Watson says, he “bangs [the] desk with [his] hands and marches out [of the] press room.”

The former-Republic of Ireland manager was due to remain in charge until his contract expired at the end of the season, however, according to a statement from the club, he agreed with owner Marcus Evans that he would stand down following the game against Barnsley.
“I spoke with Marcus at the weekend and we agreed that it was in the best interests for me, the players and the Club that I move on now,” McCarthy told the club’s website.
“I said I would see the season out but it’s been a new experience and it’s not one I have been enjoying to be honest.
“I have continued to do my job to the best of my ability but there is something missing and I’m not comfortable with that.”
