Andrés Iniesta marks his 500th game with Barcelona tonight, so here are a few of our favourite moments from the little wizard

There’s no doubting that Andrés Iniesta is one of the most gifted players in world football. Whether unblocking a defence with a perfectly measured pass or displaying his uncanny control and dribbling ability, the man from the town of Fuentealbilla has proven time and time again that when the big occasion needs someone to make their impact felt, he’s ready to answer the call for club and country.

Here are a few of our favourite moments from, as Pepe Reina called him, the man who has never seen the sun, Andrés Iniesta.

Chelsea v Barcelona – Champions League 2008/09

Levante v Barcelona – La Liga 2012

The goal is nice and all, but he also got three assists in this game. Even Ray Houghton would have had to give him a decent score in the player ratings afterwards.

Barcelona v Manchester City – Champions League 2013/14

His dribbling is sometimes so good that the only man left who can tackle him is the ref.

Spartak Moscow v Barcelona – Champions League 2012/13

Several defenders attempt to take the ball from the Spanish international here, and instead he leaves them all embarrassed, including the guy who tried to kick him into the stands.

His passing in general

The dink, the slide rule, the defence splitter, the lob, the lofted, the wedge, this man has every type of pass in his arsenal. When he’s on form, his ability to place the ball on another player’s foot is unrivaled, so sit back and enjoy this compilation of him picking apart any and every opposition with consummate ease.

THAT goal

Although this one wasn’t in a Barcelona shirt, the man scored in the bloody World Cup final for Pete’s sake. We couldn’t leave it out.
