You did know Ireland were playing this evening, right?
Seamus Coleman returns to captain Ireland against Turkey in a friendly this evening in his first appearance in a green jersey since sustaining a horrific leg injury against Wales last year.
Almost a year to the day since Neil Taylor’s horror tackle, the Everton defender captains a side containing two debutants in Declan Rice and Scott Hogan, with in-form Preston striker Seanie Maguire also getting the nod up front.
Alan Browne, Conor Hourihane and Kevin Long have also been handed starts in what is a completely new look XI named by Martin O’Neill, with James McClean, Jeff Hendrick and Shane Duffy amongst the more experienced campaigners.
