The final day of the season may have been a bit dull for most of us, but for one Paddy Power gambler it was the greatest day of their lives.

As we know only too well, trying to pick a winning Premier League accumulator on any normal weekend is tricky enough. But trying to pick a winning combo on the final day of the season is nigh-on impossible. With kids being given their debut, teams already in holiday mode and others playing their final games for their clubs, it is the one round where anything really can happen.

All that makes what one unnamed Leinster-based punter did yesterday truly extraordinary. The unknown gambler placed €1,000 on nine correct results yesterday and every single one came in.

The mystery magician picked seven wins and two draws, only swerving the very tricky to call Sunderland/Swansea game.

The bet netted the customer €477,215.63 but a bonus accumulator offer run by the bookie added another €100,000 to the winnings, meaning they took home well over half a million quid.

The nerviest of the bets was the Fulham draw, which was only conformed via a late Chris David goal. If you are ever over here Chris, somebody owes you a pint or two.
