The return of the Premier League is only a few weeks away and you know what that means… Fantasy Football is back.
With no major tournament to act as a distraction – apologies Confederations Cup fans – and with the transfer silly season seemingly sillier than ever this summer, the return of Premier League football can’t come soon enough for football fans.
We can’t wait to see how Moyes, Mourinho and Pellegrini get on, but if anything we’re even more excited about picking a fantasy team that could potentially rival anything the world has to offer, but will more likely have to settle for private league mid-table mediocrity a month or so into the new season.
But that’s just the lazy and talentless hacks in the JOE office. If you, on the other hand, are prepared to put in the hours poring over team selections late on Friday nights and in the early hours of Saturday morning and if you are prepared to listen to every piece of advice put forth in JOE’s Fantasy Football Insider every week, then you could be shooting for a place amongst the Fantasy Football big boys and more importantly in this case, shooting for a place at the top of the ladder in the always competitive J-League.
That’s right, JOE’s Fantasy Football league will be returning as usual this year and knowing how little our readers like effort, members of last year’s league will be glad to know that all they have to do to be involved this year is to ensure that they are registered in the competition and they will automatically be included in this year’s league.
If you weren’t registered in the J-League last year and would like to pit your wits against JOE readers this time around, simply enter the code 513657-130798 on the Fantasy Premier League website and you’re in.
The safest option is probably to join the league immediately, but we will be tweeting the code and posting it on Facebook regularly between now and the deadline on 17 August at 12.30, 15 minutes before the first game of the new season gets underway. We have to draw the line somewhere so anyone who hasn’t registered before then will NOT be included.
As we said, we’ll be offering weekly advice as to potential changes you should be making to your own team and if you’re producing the goods, you might just see your name in the top five, which will also be published every week, while we hope to have prizes at Christmas and at the end of the season.
That’s about the height of it, so if you haven’t already done so, get your arse over to fantasy.premierleague.com, select your team (easier to just press auto-complete and come back to it later) and enter the J-League.
