It’s that time of year again and we want you to join JOE’s Fantasy Football League

Want to pit your wits against some of the shrewdest Fantasy Football minds in the country (the JOE staff) and a whole lot of others (the JOE readers)? Then come right this way…

Forgive our cheeky opening gambit, we know only too well that the JOE readers are amongst some of the most knowledgeable Fantasy Football minds in the country and in the world given their performances relevant to the some of the highest scorers in recent years and we’re highly confident that it’s going to be the case again this time around.

That’s right, with return of the Premier League only weeks away at this stage, Fantasy Premier League is set to kick into gear once again so prepare for ridiculously late Friday nights and terribly early Saturday mornings as managers agonise over to whom to hand the skipper’s armband, only to inevitably regret that decision sometime around ten past three on a Saturday afternoon.

While the vast majority of managers will have to settle for private league mid-table mediocrity a month or so into the new season, now is very much an exciting time for millions of managers because anyone, literally anyone, could find themselves at the top of the world standings at some stage next season. Sometimes it doesn’t even take talent; blind luck is all you need.

Being on top of the world standings is one thing, but surely next best as far as Fantasy Football is concerned is a place atop the highly competitive J-League, which Fantasy Football Insiders like to call ‘the second toughest Fantasy Football league in the world’.

Well it’s back and it promises to be bigger than ever this year and we know this for a fact because all anyone who was entered in the league last season has to do is to ensure that they are registered in the competition and they will automatically be included in this year’s league. And we’re sure we’ll drag in a few more stragglers too; all you have to do is enter the code for the J-League on the Fantasy Premier League website, which is… 712092–175555.

Louis van Gaal laughs at your pitiful decision to hand the captain’s armband to a man who was an injury doubt before kick-off

Users new and old will not only get to compete in arguably the toughest Fantasy Football league in Ireland; they’ll also be able to benefit from the encyclopedic-like knowledge of JOE’s own Fantasy Football Insider, who will be dishing out advice in a column every week as well as providing regular updates on the movers and shakers in the J-League, including the would-be Mourinhos amongst the JOE staff. We hope to reward the best performers at Christmas and at the end of the season with prizes for their efforts.

There’s still a little bit of time until the start of the season, it’s probably best for all concerned if you enter immediately by entering the code above (That code again is Mr. Plow 712092–175555), although we will be tweeting the code and posting it on Facebook before the deadline on Saturday 16 August at 12.30, 15 minutes before the first game of the new season gets underway. We have to draw the line somewhere so anyone who hasn’t registered before then will NOT be included.

That’s about all you need to know for now, so if you haven’t already done so, get your arse over to fantasy.premierleague.com, select your team (easier to just press auto-complete and come back to it later) and enter the J-League.

Once again, the code is 712092–175555 and the incredibly strict deadline for entries is Saturday, 16 August at 12.30pm.

Let battle commence.
