It’s that time of year again. We want YOU to join JOE’s Fantasy Football League

Conor Heneghan

Think you know your Fantasy Football? Prove it.

The Premier League returns this weekend and with it comes boundless optimism from all football fans about what’s in store for their team over the next nine months.

And we don’t just mean the team they support, either. No, no.

For an increasing number of football fans, the fate of their Fantasy Football team assumes a far greater importance than any other aspect of the Premier League season.

Or at least it will until a sizeable percentage of managers give up the ghost after a few weeks, suddenly claiming a lack of interest after plunging to the bottom of their respective mini-leagues.

If you’re serious about your Fantasy Football, however, then have we got the league for you, because the J-League, the league run consistently on JOE for the past number of seasons, always separates the best from the rest.

The league’s leaders regularly top the charts in Ireland and have been known to occupy lofty places amongst the world’s elite too; safe to say, if you’re near the top of this league then you’re doing alright.

If you were in last year’s league, then you don’t have to do anything as you’ll be automatically entered again this time around. If you weren’t in the league last year, simply go to the Fantasy Premier League website and enter the code for the J-League: 1542656-378505. Simple.

We’ll be informing readers of the code regularly between now and the first day of the new season, but we will be strictly enforcing the same deadline as the Fantasy Premier League website, so if you’re not in by 11:30am on Saturday, August 13, then tough.

We’ll attempt to lend a hand throughout the season with our weekly Fantasy Football column (which will include updates on the movers and shakers in the J-League), although in an attempt to avoid angry Monday morning e-mails, we should point out that our word is far from gospel.

All that’s left to do is give you one more shove in the direction of the Fantasy Premier League website, give you another reminder of the code (1542656-378505) and wish you all the very best of luck.

Let the games begin.
