Arsenal ambassador and Bollywood actress apologises for racist remarks made towards Alex Iwobi

Bollywood actress Esha Gupta has apologised for her comments.

Esha Gupta, an Indian model/actress and Arsenal ambassador, has apologised after she shared a screenshot of a text message in which she and her friend made racist comments about Arsenal player and Nigerian internatonal Alex Iwobi.

Following Arsenal's 3-1 loss to Manchester United in the FA Cup on Friday night, Gupta shared a Whatsapp conversation between her and her friend, in which she referred to Iwobi as a "gorilla".

The uploaded picture of the conversation has since been deleted.

She has since taken to Twitter to apologise to anyone who "thought it was racist".

She also said that it was said out of frustration during the game, and that she herself has been a victim of racism before, and that what has happened is not something that she is proud of.

Iwobi, a 22-year-old Arsenal academy graduate, has not responded publicly to what was said.
