This will come as a relief to everyone on Leeside…

It’s been confirmed this evening that Jimmy Barry Murphy will continue on as the Cork senior hurling manager for another two season.

A statement appeared on the official Cork GAA website this evening saying, ‘Cork GAA wishes to confirm that, following a meeting with the County Chairman this morning, Senior Hurling manager Jimmy Barry- Murphy has agreed to stay on for a further two year term.’

Barry Murphy has led to Rebels to an All-Ireland final, two All-Ireland semi finals and a Munster title since returning to the role as manager three years ago as well as blooding numerous young players.

We’d imagine to hurling supporters in Cork will be delighted with this news.
