The Juventus striker bailed his side out with two valuable goals…

It wasn’t exactly a vintage week for the English sides in the Champions League, but a player who is well known to Premier League fans has already made his mark in Europe.

Arsenal got absolutely taken apart in Dortmund, Liverpool were poor in their dramatic last-minute win against Ludogorets, while Manchester City and Chelsea couldn’t get the better of the Bundesliga duo of Bayern Munich and Schalke.

JOE was amazed to learn that Carlos Tevez’s last Champions League goal was in 2009 and his two goals against the Swedes on Tuesday couldn’t have come at a better time.

Group A is looking like it will be extremely tight, especially since Olympiakos managed a shock win against last year’s runners up Atletico Madrid in Athens. The Argentinian still isn’t 100% in our good graces after his touchline strop in Munich during his City days, but these two goals will certainly have endeared him to the fans of ‘The Old Lady’.

Tevez really stepped up to the plate, especially since Juve were missing their key playmaker Andrea Pirlo, along with Arturo Vidal and Andrea Barzagli.

His 59th minute opener was absolutely sublime, following some great link-up play with with Kwadwo Asamoah.

His brilliantly-curled free-kick settled the contest, but we’re not sure about the dance moves though.
