José Mourinho accepts one-year suspended prison sentence in Spain

The Special One has been sentenced.

Former Manchester United manager José Mourinho has accepted a one-year suspended prison sentence for tax evasion.

According to Sky Sports News, the Portuguese football manager has accepted that a one-year jail sentence, although he will not actually serve any time in prison.

He has however been ordered to pay a €2 million fine, after being accused of owing nearly €3.3m in undeclared image rights revenue while he was Real Madrid manager.

The offences relate to undeclared income while he was managing the Spanish club in 2011-2012.

The 56-year-old was sacked by Manchester United at the start of December 2018, and has since been working as a pundit for a number of different stations.
