José Mourinho targeting incredible Premier League return

He believes he has “unfinished business”

José Mourinho has been tipped for an incredible return to the Premier League as per a report by the Guardian.

The Special One has been having an uneasy time with Fenerbahçe in Turkey as his team sit third in the league, five points off leaders Galatasary.

It was only after a recent 3-2 win over Trabzonspor in which he claimed his side had been denied two clear penalties.

This is also plays into the belief that many Fenerbahçe fans think themselves to be at a centre of a conspiracy against the club.

After the game, Mourinho told BeIN Sports: “I blame the Fenerbahçe people that brought me here. They told me only half of the truth.

“They didn’t tell me the whole truth because if they told me the whole truth, I wouldn’t come.”

Now, it would appear that Mourinho is reconsidering his position in Turkey and the 61-year-old is targeting a return to the Premier League.

As per the Guardian, Mourinho has reached out to intermediaries to be kept up to date with developments at Newcastle, as he eyes the Magpies as his next Premier League club.

The Portuguese manager met Yasir al-Rumayyan, Newcastle’s chairman, at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix back in March and has since maintained the connection.

While Eddie Howe is not under immediate threat at the club, it is understood that the Saudi owners want to achieve regular European football, notably Champions League.

This could lead to a change at the helm, notably if Mourinho offers himself to the club.

The desire by the owners to be regularly in the European spots has placed pressure on Howe this season to deliver after Newcastle were pushed out of the European places last season after Manchester United won the FA Cup.

Whatever Mourinho does now, it’s sure to be box office.
