Katie Taylor has hit out the BBC’s criticism of her last performance

Taylor referred to the BBC’s boxing experts as “absolutely clueless.”

Katie Taylor was recently victorious against American boxer Jessica McCaskill in York Hall, London. Although Taylor won the fight, she has faced some recent criticism for her performance.

Pundits Mike Costello and Steve Bunce accused Taylor of “not having a boxing brain,” on their  popular BBC Radio 5 Live show. Costello went on to say that “She could not miss, it was so easy – and I use that word – it was easy, it was embarrassingly one-sided. But that wasn’t enough for her, she wanted to get involved. I thought it showed, actually, a lack of a boxing brain.”

Never the type to hold back, Taylor took to Twitter today to defend herself, and launch a scathing an attack on the pundits themselves, saying: “I would’ve thought that people making those comments would have some knowledge. The reason I won the fight well is cos I used my boxing brain and outsmarted my opponent.

“If people who particularly are involved in boxing can’t see that, they are absolutely clueless.”

The pundits were particularly harsh on Taylor, saying that “Maybe she needs to stop… I’ve had a couple run-ins with Katie’s people over me saying that she needs to slow down and revert do what she does best and stop thinking she’s Mike Tyson in box shirt shorts.”
