Katie Taylor has absolutely no time for KSI and Logan Paul as they headline boxing event

“It makes a mockery of the sport.”

Katie Taylor has the chance to become a two-weight world champion at the Manchester Arena on Saturday night.

Taylor spoke to press ahead of her fight with Christina Linardatou scheduled to take place this weekend, where she tore into the recent trend of YouTubers headlining boxing events.

She addressed the upcoming fight between Logan Paul and KSI boxing bout, a sequel to a fight that took place between two of the most popular YouTubers in the world back in 2018.

Paul and KSI are due to go at it on 9 November at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles, to what will almost certainly be a sold out arena, but Taylor doesn’t have all that much time for it.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Taylor said that she felt these types of fights “make a mockery of the sport.”

Beautifully, she didn’t even know Logan Paul’s name. You really do love to see it.

She said: “I think it makes a mockery of the sport, in that these two YouTubers are headlining a big show.

“But it’s all about a business, I understand that, but I’m just interested in the purity of the sport I love. Fighters going toe to toe together.

“This is our lives. This is something that we’ve trained towards since we were 10 or 11 years of age. We’ve had these amateur competitions. We’ve stood in the dressing room not knowing who we were going to fight.”

Very hard to argue with anything Taylor has said here…
