Looks like this whole situation is far from over.
At their last fight, Khabib Nurmagomedov forced McGregor to submit with what looked like a neck crank or face choke, but as the arm was not under the chin when McGregor tapped, some people are saying that he had submitted too soon.
In the last few days, Joe Rogan said on his podcast:
“He did not tap prematurely. There was a lot of people who don’t train who think that that was something that you shouldn’t tap to. They are out of their fucking minds. That is what is called ‘a fulcrum choke’. It’s not necessarily a choke but it does choke you and it really feels like your fucking head is going to pop off.”
So everyone is already looking at any potential rematch, and the talk is that the whole MMA thing might be given a rethink.
Khabib’s father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, told Russia media outlet IZ the following:
“As for the fight against Conor under boxing rules, this is a fight we are interested in. Khabib showed that he is able to beat the best strikers of mixed martial arts. He said this before, but few believed it. However, after strong victories over Michael Johnson, Edson Barboza, and Conor, people begin to believe.”
Would that be something fans would be interested in seeing McGregor do? Especially considering how his fight with Mayweather went?
