Premier League Scorecast: United to out-gun Gunners

Can the Red Devils claim third place

JOE

Two clubs who can be satisfied, but not delighted, with their season.

After the amount of money United  have spent, the least that was expected was a top-four finish.

The Gunners also secured Champions League qualification, but their feeble exit from that competition, as well as a complete lack of a title bid means the London side aren’t much further along than they were last season.

Wayne Rooney, Luke Shaw, Michael Carrick are all out for United, while Jonny Evans is also a doubt. Arsenal are without former United striker, Danny Welbeck.

In terms of United v Arsenal games, this is not one of the more important ones. However, United are still in the hunt for third place, which would see them avoid a tricky Champions League play-off.

We don’t see the home side losing either. In the past 12 league games against Arsenal, they’ve only loss the one. The Gunners last league victory against United in Old Trafford was 2006.

United have won seven of their last eight league games at home too, so it’s unlikely Arsenal will be breaking any trends today. We fancy a United win, with the only goal of the game coming from Juan Mata.

This is priced at 60/1.
