Lee Westwood is taking absolutely no sh*t on Twitter this morning

After finishing the USPGA Championship with a disappointing 76, Lee Westwood took a bit of grief on Twitter. So he decided to give some back.

Any big name sports personality on Twitter is liable to get a bit of abuse. That doesn’t make it right, of course, but the very open nature of the platform means that in the aftermath of events, especially a bad loss or defeat, there will be a line of people waiting to tell the sports star what they did wrong.

Lee Westwood suffered yet another bad day at a Major championship yesterday. After a very good opening round of 66,  a 68 on Saturday had him in the top 10 heading into the final round at Oak Hill.

Sadly for the English golfer, he was three over after three holes and eventually he signed for a 76, falling down to three over for the week and into a tie for 33rd.

That less than stellar round drew some folks to have a pop at Westwood on Twitter, something we’re sure he is used to but for some reason the 40-year-old decided enough was enough and started having a pop back. A lot of pops back.

Below is a small selection of the tweets he has sent this morning, and he is still at it. Check out the full stream on his Twitter feed here.
