The fan, who wishes to remain anonymous, stood to win £250,000 after putting £50 on Leicester City to win the league at 5,000/1 at the beginning of the season, but has instead decided to settle for a cool £72,335.89 (approximately €93,600) instead.
Commenting on the punter’s decision to cash out, Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: "It's a life-changing amount of money and we congratulate our customer for holding his nerve this long. He's now the richest cash out punter in the entire country and we wish him all the best."
